Monitoring of Elizabeth Bay and Atlas Bay clans
The two brown hyena clans living in the Elizabeth Bay and Atlas Bay areas have been studied by the Brown Hyena Research Project since 1997. As part of this long-term study, we have closely followed their demography, clan structure, and movement patterns for many years.
Today, we continue to monitor these two clans using camera traps, GPS collars, and regular behavioural observations at their dens.
